For this week’s Don’t Dillydally, we’ve surfaced a range of things we think will sell out, including a bread oven from Le Creuset, new colors from Harry Styles’s nail-polish brand Pleasing, and brightly hued suitcases from Away.
Violet Grey Woman Made Edit
Luxury beauty retailer Violet Grey is known for its highly curated, quick-selling beauty boxes filled with skin-care and beauty products that are Violet Code approved. Its most recent release is the Woman Made Edit, which, as the name suggests, contains products from woman-founded brands. There are nine products in the box, five of which are from brands we’ve written about before, including a full-size hand cream from Dr. Barbara Sturm, lip masks from KNC Beauty (Rio is a big fan), firming body serum from Mutha, a cleanser from Shani Darden, and the cult-favorite Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum, which we’ve said makes a “near-immediate difference in skin’s overall radiance and clarity.”
Pleasing Shroom Bloom Set
Also on the beauty front, Harry Styles’s nail brand Pleasing has released a new set of polishes for spring called Shroom Bloom. The new drop includes four colors: Sprouting, a pale green; Tender Bud, a mushroom-colored beige; Vine Ripe, a bright tomato red; and the Whole Dewniverse, a glittery holographic shade. The set also comes with a few sets of decals, so you can further accessorize your manicure.
Away Technicolor
Also in time for spring, Away has launched new colorways of its popular suitcases, which we’ve recommended in just about every size. They now come in limited-edition Technicolor shades. The Carry-on and Bigger Carry-on are available in two color-block options: tropic, a bright-orange-and-green combination, and Bloom, which is magenta on one side and orange on the other. Meanwhile, the medium and large sizes have been reimagined in a bright orange called Beam. The collection also includes a new color of the sling bag (a multicolored situation named Prism) and a passport wallet.
Tekla Sleepwear Spring Collection
Tekla — known for its high-quality textiles and homewares (its towels in particular are standouts) — has released new colors of their sleepwear set for spring. There are both striped and solid options, ranging from a soft yellow named lemonade to a white-and-green striped set, pictured here. The two-piece sleep set is inspired by classic pajamas, and it’s crafted from organic, OEKO-tex certified, long-staple cotton to give it a crisp, cool feel. The set itself is slouchy and oversize for an effortless, loungey look that seamlessly transitions from the bed to the couch and even to the grocery store.
Zayn x Arnette
Sunglasses brand Arnette has teamed up with musician Zayn on another collection of frames. This time, it’s released five styles inspired by the artist’s love for old-school video games and movies, which shows up in the naming (Daken, for example, is named after a Marvel antihero). This drop also includes a super-limited style named Agent Z, a slightly thicker take on the classic Wayfarer. There are only 150 pairs of the Agent Z available, so if you’re thinking about grabbing one, don’t dillydally.
Rifle Paper Co. Furniture
Rifle Paper Co. has expanded into furniture, applying its whimsical, floral designs to screens, headboards, ottomans, and chairs. The collection contains 15 pieces, all of which are made to order and customizable. If you’re looking to zhuzh up your bedroom, consider this headboard, which is available in nine prints and comes in twin, full, queen, king, and California king sizing.
Deux x Summer Fridays
Summer Fridays — best known for its popular Jet Lag Mask, has teamed up with cookie-dough brand Deux on a limited-edition flavor of cookie dough to celebrate the brand’s fourth birthday. Made from a vanilla cake base, the dough has add-ins like sprinkles, vanilla icing, and almond flavoring along with 1,200 milligrams of aloe vera for added collagen support. It’s also vegan, and you can either eat it straight from the jar or pop it in the oven and eat it as a cookie.
Coach Spring/Summer ’22
If there’s one thing we love here at the Strategist, it’s a good piece of NYC merch — so we were delighted by Coach’s spring 2022 show last fall, which featured pieces inspired by New York fixtures like Serendipity 3 and Zabar’s. After many months, the collection is now available to purchase. Offerings include this mohair-wool Zabar’s sweater — an upgrade from the Upper West Side grocer’s (very) inexpensive pullover.
Le Creuset Bread Oven
For those of us who still have a bread-baking habit, Le Creuset has released a bread oven that promises to take your boule to the next level. The OG Le Creuset has long been used as a bread-baking vessel by devoted home bakers (including Strategist newsletter editor Mia Leimkuhler), but this dedicated oven has bread-specific upgrades, like a domed lid (designed to trap and circulate steam for maximum rise and perfectly crisp crusts) and a low-profile base to facilitate even browning. The oven comes in eight classic Le Creuset shades, so you can match your existing collection (or start a new one).
Great Jones Cooling Rack
Great Jones recently launched a cooling rack that matches its Strat-favorite Holy Sheet pan, which we’ve dubbed the best nonstick option money can buy. The rack, cheekily named Big Chill, is made from the same nonstick material as the Holy Sheet and has close-set grids so food won’t slip through. It’s dishwasher-safe and comes in two colors: blueberry and raspberry. Currently, you can only purchase the rack with the pan, but there’s a benefit to the twofer — a $15 discount that brings the combo down from $65 to $50.
Maruhiro x A24
For A24-obsessed cinephiles and mug collectors both, a statusy mug and saucer set from the production company behind films like Uncut Gems and Zola. The mug was created in collaboration with Japanese ceramics brand Maruhiro, riffing on their signature, stackable shape. A24’s iteration adds a hand-drawn-looking logo designed by illustrator Jordan Awan and comes in four nice-looking shades: yellow, red, white, and pink.
