This Waterproof Upgrade to the Iconic Merrell Hiking Shoe Is Up to 40 Percent Off

Head to any trail, campsite, or national park, and you’ll likely spot someone wearing a pair of Merrell Moabs. A decades-long classic, it’s the boot your parents wear — “Moab” stands for “Mother of All Boots,” after all — and it’s a Strategist-favorite men’s and women’s hiking boot. That’s why Chris Black refers to the Moab as the “Air Force 1 of hiking shoes.”

The boot’s vented construction makes it a staple for warm-weather adventures, but what you get in breathability, you lose in waterproofing: Your feet will get soaked in the original Moabs. (The idea is that the porous structure of the boot will allow your feet to dry off as you hike.) The Merrell Moab 2 Mid Waterproof model, however, has a membrane that keeps out water from the get-go but still allows your feet to breathe through its mesh upper — just like the classic model. Right now, both the women’s and men’s models are at least 30 percent off. Snag them while they’re discounted — just in time for fall and cool-weather hikes.
