While the Yankees are attempting to re-create much of their historic stadium, the Mets are making a clean break from antiquated Shea, with one exception: When Citi Field opens across the parking lot, it’ll also include a home-run apple, thanks to fan petitioning.

Concerts at McCarren Park Pool

With plans in the works to renovate the WPA-era pool back into, well, an actual pool, this summer will likely be the last for the concerts it’s hosted since 2006. But fear not, indie rockers! A new riverfront venue is being considered and could be ready in time for summer, 2009.
