With all due respect to Riesling evangelist Paul Grieco, there are other summer quaffs worth sipping. One is Vera Vinho Verde 2010, the first release of a new brand of the young-drinking, lip-smackingly refreshing “green wine” of Portugal. The slightly effervescent blend of three indigenous grapes is imported by Bruce Schneider, better known for the tap-wine juggernaut Gotham Project he co-founded. Vera might come in a bottle and not from a spigot, but the screw cap makes it even more picnic-ready ($10 to $11 at Sherry-Lehmann and Le Dû’s Wines).
