What Rachel Antonoff (Still) Can’t Live Without

Back in 2016, we asked designer Rachel Antonoff about the lip balm and lotion she can’t live without. In 2023, we asked her to revisit her list and share her new favorites. (We’re still on Blistex and a good book.) Now, we’re asking her to again revisit her list — but this time, she invited us to her Brooklyn Heights office to show us, in person, the lip ointment she keeps with her at all times, the floss she’s using every day, and the scented candle she keeps burning.

What She Still Can’t Live Without

If I had to leave my home with any one thing, I would absolutely take this over my phone, my laptop, my keys. It tingles. It’s like ChapStick plus. I really don’t feel comfortable without it. I wake up in the night to reapply. If you come to my apartment, they’re like little bread crumbs I leave behind. They’re in every drawer, every crevice, nook, and cranny. It’s just one of my most treasured things.

I find this stuff to be a real lifesaver. It’s also incredible on feet. I use it on my entire body when I get out of the shower. Sometimes I even use it to smooth a little flyaway. It feels like water for your skin.

And Some New Favorites

I’m deeply passionate about this floss. It’s a recent discovery. It has ruined all other floss for me. It’s really thick, it’s very minty, and it has this nifty thing on the back that tells you how long it should be lasting you. Not to brag, but I’m using it faster than they say.

It’s just a really beautiful, moving, surprisingly unsurprisingly funny book.

I love this candle so much. I don’t know how you’d describe this scent. It’s sort of musky, not sweet at all. To me, this candle is to scents as the Penicillin is to cocktails — there’s a smokiness, I guess.

I personally love a dress or any piece of clothing that just floats around you, so you feel sort of like you’re wearing the lightest possible spa bathrobe. Trust me when I say that it is so buttery-soft to the touch.
